Maschka, Riedy, Ries & Frentz is eager to share the 2025 Safety Advocate Scholarship. This nationwide scholarship encourages students to describe a time in their lives when they stood up for the safety of others, discuss safety regulations that need improvement, or explain how they advocate for safety in their everyday lives. As our firm’s inaugural scholarship, we are thrilled to support the next generation of students and proud to offer a $1,000 award to one hardworking student for their educational pursuits. We are grateful to share that we are an entertainment sponsor for the Feeding Our Communities Partners’ (FOCP) fundraising event, Crave! This culinary fundraising event will be held on September 26th. Crave is a culinary competition for local Southern Minnesota chefs, and they will create one-of-a-kind dishes for a 9-course meal. The FOCP holds this event to raise money for the upcoming school year to ensure the youth of Mankato have meals during and after their school day. On June 12th, 2024, our firm was a Game Sponsor for the 10th Annual Men’s Event! We are proud to consistently support the Greater Mankato Area United Way. Each year, the Men’s Event raises money and awareness for United Way programs. We had a great time participating in the raffles, silent auction, and games. One of our own attorneys is proud to have been on the planning committee for this event, and we hope to continue our support for such an esteemed organization.
We are proud to have sponsored the Echo Food Shelf Hockey Spectacular, an incredible event that not only brings our community together but also supports a vital cause. This weekend tournament focused on raising funds and amplifying awareness for the Echo Food Shelf. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Echo Food Shelf for allowing us to participate in such an important gathering to fight against food insecurity as a community.
Attorney Nicholas Maxwell currently serves on the board of the Values Event Committee and continues to support the Boy Scouts of Mankato. He also supports North Mankato – Troop 29. The Bend of the River Fall Festival is a new staple for the Mankato music community, and we are so glad that we were able to contribute to an event that our community could come together and enjoy.
We are proud to have supported the Eagle Lake Parks Project in September of 2020. The Eagle Lake Parks Project centered around helping the rebuilding of the Eagle Lake Park which was demolished in 2020 due to structural concerns. This project aimed to fund the construction of a new playground and a park pavilion at Eagle Lake Park.

We loved the opportunity to encourage young hockey enthusiasts to engage in classic pick-up hockey fashion.
